Sniffies launched an official iOS app in March 2025 for users in the US and Canada. Here's what happened next and how iPhone users access Sniffies today.

The 2025 launch

The iPhone app kept the real-time map but had to fit Apple's content rules. It opened in Vanilla Mode, which filters explicit content, and it lacked some of the anonymity features available on the website.

Removal from the App Store

In May 2025, Apple removed the app. Sniffies described the removal as temporary and linked it to ongoing content restrictions, saying the app kept working for existing users and the web app stayed fully operational.

Using Sniffies on iPhone today

Open the official site in Safari and add it to your Home Screen for an app-like icon. Check the App Store and Sniffies' own announcements for the latest status, since it may have changed.

iPhone privacy tips

Use Safari's location permission set to 'While Using', turn on Face ID for your password manager, and use Screen Time or app locks if others use your phone.
